Fireworks is a fun way to celebrate July 4th. For dogs loud booms and flashing lights can be utterly terrifying for them. Please do not take your dogs to a fireworks display show. Dogs have an acute sense of hearing to loud booms and flashing lights which could be alarming for your dog.
- Dogs may tremble
- Shake or become really nervous
- Start barking
If you are unsure of how your dog might react do not leave your dog outside during fireworks display bring them inside because animals that fled in fright sometimes travel miles away from their homes disoriented and exhausted. Make sure that your pet id tag is attached to their collar or harness with your correct information, also make sure that their harness or leash is well secured. This will prevent your dog from running away when they feel scared which can put them in danger.
Create a safe haven for your dog try setting them up in a quite space away from windows where they cannot see the flashing lights. With a little preparation and some extra TLC July 4th can be fun for you and your furry friends.
